Voluntary School Contribution

LIBRARY FUND

These are set each year in consultation with the school community and you will be notified accordingly in the school bulletin.

The contributions are:

   $50 for the first child
   $60 for two children
$70 for three or more children

Payment may be by cash, eftpos or cheque. Please make your cheque payable to "Gerringong Public School Library Fund". All contributions to the school's Library Fund are tax deductible.

After School Care (GASC)

Gerringong After School Care is a community-operated Quality Assured and Accredited Service which provides a safe, healthy caring and fun environment for children in K-6. Our core personnel are certified child care workers. We operate during school terms Monday to Friday 3pm-6pm. Parents who use this service are eligible for the Child Care Benefit relief.

Custody

The Principal should be fully informed of any legal custody matters related to your child. This avoids problems with children being removed from school without a parent's permission.

As family problems often cause emotional upsets to children, keeping the teacher informed of changed circumstances may help your child's teacher provide that extra understanding, sympathy and support your child is seeking. Where it exists, any documentation of custody and access would be very helpful.

Complete confidentiality is assured in all matters of this nature.

Parent Involvement

The parents/caregivers of the students in our school are partners in the education of their children. The school staff encourages the involvement of parents in their children's school life. Some examples are:

   - Joining the P&C Association
   - Helping children in the classroom
   - Helping in the library
   - Participating in school excursions
   - Helping in the school canteen on a voluntary roster basis
   - Attending community meetings on child-related matters
   - Helping with fundraising
   - Being trained as a reading helper
   - Assisting with transport to venues for sport or excursions.
