Fair Discipline Code
The Student Welfare Policy sets out the school's expectations of its students and the strategies employed in relation to discipline. It includes sections on Bullying, Recognising Student Achievement, Playground Rules and Self Discipline.
It is expected that every student will maintain a very high standard of politeness and conduct by showing consideration for others, for the environment, in classes, in the playground, in all school activities and on their way to and from school.
Reports
Parents receive two reports a year (Semester 1 and 2) which indicate their child's progress at that point in time, i.e. what has been taught and assessed throughout each semester. The aim of our reporting is to inform parents of their child's achievements, strengths and areas of further development, and supports and encourages students in their future learning. Teachers also appreciate parents reporting to them any concerns they have about their children's progress.
Interviews
Interviews are formally organised at the end of Semester 1 to discuss your child's progress. If you wish to discuss issues relating to your child at other times throughout the school year it is advisable to contact the class teacher or office to arrange a time that is suitable for both parties.
Visitors
All visitors and parent helpers are to sign the "Visitors Book", located at the office, on arrival and departure.
Release from Face-to-Face Teaching (RFF)
To provide two hours relief/release per teacher per week, the NSW Department of Education provides additional staffing. These teachers work in the classroom with the students whilst the classroom teacher has preparation, assessment and interview time.
School Development Days
Each year the school, in accordance with the policy of NSW Government, conducts three development days. They allow the staff to further develop their professional skills, to provide for whole school planning and to inform the school community of directions that education is taking. The first day of Terms 1, 2 and 3 are pupil free days, scheduled for the above activities.
School Security
A series of installed and monitored alarms are located in the buildings. If at anytime you see someone acting suspiciously around the school then please contact the Police.
